The Conservative Rural Forum and CCHQ have launched the Stop the Family Farms Tax campaign to end Labour’s farm death tax, introduced in the Autumn budget. Country Land and Business Association (CLA) indicates that this new tax will impact 70,000 family farms across the UK with research from Agricultural Horticultural Development Board (AHDB), showing that the average farm could face an inheritance tax bill of £240,000 per generation under Labour’s plan. This new tax will make it impossible for many farmers to sustain their operations, leading to widespread farm closures, threatening the nation’s food security, weakening rural communities, and undermining vital environmental efforts.
